Also, lest anyone get the idea that Mormon funerals are a party, we definitely do "weep for the loss of them that die" (D&C 42:45). Even temporary losses of those you love is pretty sad. I totally agree. Funerals are a wonderful time to think about the plan of Salvation, and to think about what we can accomplish and become in this life.
